The design builds upon the existing architectural character of the Hartford Wing, celebrating elements such as the wood paneling and enhancing them through a refined and cohesive material language.
Inspired by the shifting tones of sand and sea, the palette evolves throughout the day—layered neutrals are enlivened by moments of color drawn from custom artwork within the rooms. A vibrant turtle artwork by renowned contemporary artist Katherine Bernhardt introduces a playful and unexpected expression of marine life, while bright, patterned pillows echo its energy, bringing vibrancy and a sense of relaxed sophistication to the space. Complementing these pieces, custom seashell artworks commissioned for the suites from Bahamian artist Angelika Wallace-Whitfield celebrate the natural beauty of the islands while creating a meaningful connection to local culture and craftsmanship.
The result is an environment that feels immersive and effortlessly elegant—where the ocean, history, art, and glamour converge to create a guest experience that is distinctly Ocean Club.
